Anglicare SA, Loss and Grief Centre was established in partnership with the School of Social Work, Flinders University.

The Centre offers individual and family counselling.

All staff have relevant and recognised professional qualifications.

Anglicare SA works for people from all backgrounds to make a positive difference. All staff work with respect for clients’ rights to self determination and their own belief system.

Centacare

Centacare offers a confidential, professional counselling service for those confronted by loss and grief and work to provide a sympathetic and practical support as people journey through the grieving process.

LIFELINE

LIFELINE provides a 24hr telephone counselling service that is compassionate, non-judgmental, confidential and supportive of people from all walks of life, in need or in crisis.
Counsellors are trained to help with crises in areas such as isolation, relationship difficulties, domestic violence, suicide, youth issues, loss and grief, mental health, child abuse, sexual abuse, drug and alcohol abuse, gambling etc.

LIFELINE has been helping South Australians of all ages, religions and social groups since 1963. In that time, our counsellors have dealt with just about every human problem.

  • Grief education classes as part of training of telephone counsellors
  • Referral service to other agencies and support groups
  • One-on-one crisis support chat 8pm-4am 7days: 13 11 14

Minimisation of Suicide Harm (MOSH Australia)

MOSH is dedicated to reducing the impact of suicide on the general community by supporting those at risk and those beraved by suicide. MOSH believed suicide prevention is a whole of community responsibility and everyone can make a difference, giebn the right support and information.

  • Walk in service for those at risk of suicide or bereaved by suicide 
  • Group support for those bereaved by suicide  1-3pm every wednesday 
  • Art/craft groups Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 1-3pm

Nunkuwarrin Yunti of South Australia A Inc.

Nunkuwarrin Yunti of SA Inc. is the foremost Aboriginal community controlled centre in Adelaide, South Australia, providing primary health care and community support services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from two major locations. The central site of Nunkuwarrin Yunti is located at 182 – 190 Wakefield St, Adelaide and our Northern clinic is located at 28 Brady St, Elizabeth Downs SA.

Nunkuwarrin Yunti prides itself on a professional multi-disciplinary approach to health care inclusive of a medical, dental and social emotional wellbeing service. Nunkuwarrin Yunti is, therefore, committed to providing culturally appropriate health care and community support services, and to influencing and overcoming barriers which exist for Aboriginal people in accessing and utilising mainstream services.

Nunkuwarrin Yunti offers access to:

  • Individual and family counselling, psychological therapies and social health servicesWoman’s healing group

  • Registered training organisation and Aboriginal SEWB workforce support
  • Clinical psychological services. This new service is available to Aboriginal people who may need to access a child, adolescent or adult Psychological assessment and treatment.

The Cancer Council Helpline

The Cancer Council Helpline is a support and information service for people concerned about cancer or affected by cancer personally or indirectly.

The Helpline is staffed by nurse health counsellors who have extensive experience in cancer nursing and counselling. The Helpline provides information and support and is the first access point for other Cancer Council services such as counselling and cancer support programs. Information can also be provided on support available in the community.

The Cancer Council South Australia provides the Helpline as a free and confidential service.

It is the first point of access for information on Cancer Council services and provides professional support to people concerned about cancer.
